Forbes released its second annual list of America’s Richest Self-Made Women. This year’s list includes 60 powerful women who are worth a combined $53 billion. Included in the catalog are pioneers from the worlds of business, technology, and entertainment.
In order to make it onto this year’s list, Forbes required a minimum of $250 million in individual net worth. Each woman included is either a U.S. citizen or longtime resident and, according to Forbes, “substantially made her own fortune.”
So, which women are included this year? Topping the list, with a net worth of $4.9 billion, is Diane Hendricks, the cofounder and chairman of ABC Supply, a roofing supply company based in Wisconsin. More of a household name is number two, Oprah Winfrey, with her $3.1 billion net worth.
Dr.Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields are once again listed as America’s Top Richest Self Made Women – coming in at #26 (right behind Madonna!) – this says a lot about the legitimacy of their Rodan+Fields business. I can share all day about how great this business opportunity is, but when Forbes shares about it, people tend to listen up.

The year’s biggest percentage gainers are dermatologists Kathy Fields and Katie Rodan, who together created acne treatment Proactiv and launched skin-care company Rodan + Fields.
Revenues hit $627 million in 2015, up 90% from the previous year, with more than 150,000 independent consultants [selling] products. That in turn helped boost their fortunes 72% in the past year to $550 million apiece.
With the US becoming increasingly dominated by Rodan + Fields, other countries may not be far behind. Rodan + Fields launched in Canada in February 2015, and Australia is scheduled to launch in 2017.
What may be lacking, however, is the people that have still yet to recognize that selling via a direct marketing sales avenue- sometimes referred to as a multi-tier marking business- is not what it use to be, and it’s definitely not something to ignore. Community commerce is a growing trend in retail that Rodan + Fields may be leading, but others are certainly trying to follow.”
