The Eyes Have It

The Eyes Have It

William Shakespeare once wrote, “The eyes are the windows to your soul.” Your eyes are the windows to your age as well. In fact, studies have shown that when strangers are asked to judge how old a person is, the eye area is one of the biggest influences.

To help your eyes look brighter and more youthful (and like you’ve actually gotten enough sleep for once), use eye cream regularly. I have girl friends who do not use eye cream…and these are girls who take great care of their skin, hair and nails, but fail to give their eyes the attention they deserve.

Many of you might be thinking that you’re too young for eye cream, but trust me it’s NEVER too early to start practicing good skincare habits. Starting to use an eye cream before you actually get little lines (like in early 20’s) is the best way to eliminate dark circles, puffy eyes and worst of all…unwanted aging.

As we age, skin around our eyes becomes thinner and the exposed capillaries underneath can create a bluish undertone—that’s just one type of ‘dark circle.  For some people, this issue is linked directly to their genetics, but for others, rubbing the eyes too much, inflammatory skin diseases or weight loss and aging could also be the culprit.

The skin around the eyes is a super delicate area that really benefits from lots of extra love and attention.

So, how do you know which eye cream to choose from the thousands of options? One thing to know is that not every eye cream fits every girl or pinpointed concerns. Some formulas work instantaneously by brightening or cooling and de-puffing the under eye area, while others take time to show results because they slowly help plump and firm the skin around the eyes over time.

I have tried lots of eye creams and while many of these seem to moisturize, the majority didn’t make a noticeable difference. Just like everyone else, I want to actually SEE the results in the mirror and in pictures of myself (this is when I really can spot if a cream is working or not).  I have found the best eye cream  that not only moisturized but also reduces the appearance of fine lines.

Of course, the last thing we want our eyes to reveal is our age. Even after a long night of New Year’s Eve partying, make sure to remove all eye makeup with REDEFINE Eye Cloths, and opt for REDEFINE Multi-Function Eye Cream to minimize the appearance of eye wrinkles, dark circles and puffiness. Not only will you wake up to eyes that look brighter, more youthful and refreshed—you may also find yourself developing a newfound confidence about your appearance before your very eyes.

Starting to use an eye cream early is a great idea, because it will help keep your eyes looking bright and awake, while reducing dark shadows, minimizing any early morning puffiness, and keeping the area moisturized. Shop Now
