A Panther Football Mom

I have been a Victory Lakes Panther supporter for the past five years, both of my sons attended/ attend this great middle school. Today I packed away my Panther bling football shirt and crown, a sad reminder that yet another milestone has ended. Blake is my baby, next year I will have a Freshman & Senior playing high school football.

A Panther Football MomAs a Panther football mom, I’ve watched my sons learn a new type of discipline and respond to someone else’s whistle.

As a Panther football mom, I’ve watched my sons learn about teamwork and form a camaraderie with their peers.

As a Panther football mom, I’ve encouraged a lifestyle that includes physical fitness and healthy eating. (Lots of eating!)

As a Panther football mom, I’ve taught the importance of priorities, starting with academics followed by the reward of playing football.

Head football Coach Briseno and all the coaches have taught my sons the skill, discipline, concentration and the determination it takes to play football.

The school has establish a great partnership with the high school, Blake already knows his high school coach an is looking forward to playing for the Chargers next year (just like his brother is doing now).

Football has given them a chance to work with others to achieve a goal and how to earn the right of a win that isn’t handed to them.

It also teaches them about the feeling of failure. It’s a proven fact that failure is more powerful than success—it’s how you learn how to achieve greatness.

They have learned some great lessons that will serve them well in life.

I hold my breath any time they take a hard hit. My heart almost stops any time there is a player down on the field.

There has been many amazing Panther football moments, I’ll share two….

It’s the championship game we are wining, but now they have the ball and are about to score… there is 30 seconds on the clock, Austin tackled the run-back stopping him from making at touchdown on the 10 yard line.

Then there was the time that I almost fell of the bleachers because I was yelling and jumping so hard that I missed a step. Why you ask….Blake was on the kick off return team he got the ball and run 96 yards for the touchdown!

Today at the last game of the season Blake scored a touchdown, making it the perfect ending to his Panther football years.

As Panther Football Mom -I've spent many years around a football field and still don't know the game of football... but what I do know is that my sons

I’m glad that I took lots of football pictures (making a scrapbook for each) because, like so many of the roles we assume in our lifetime the role of football mom, is going by way to fast.

I’ve spent many years around a football field and still don’t know the game of football… but what I do know is that my sons know their mom in bling football armor is always their number one fan win or lose.
